'Coronation Street' star Mikey North learned how to pour a pint when he visited a pub for a meet and greet session at the weekend.

The 34-year-old actor - who plays Gary Windass in the ITV soap - was joined by his co-stars Sair Khan, who portrays Alya Nazir, and Julia Golding, who plays Shona Platt, at The Red Lion in Lowton, Warrington, for the event on Saturday (07.08.21) with the trio meeting regulars, families and children.

The event was organised to raise awareness of vulnerable people in the local community, especially those with alcohol or drug problems.

Mikey got stuck in to pub work by getting behind the bar to pull a few pints for the patrons, impressing manager Laura Cotter.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian newspaper, Laura said: "It was really good, it was more of a family event – little children came who were really looking forward to seeing the 'Corrie' stars.

‘‘They were all really down to earth and it was a really good feel factor, you could see on the customers and children’s faces how happy and excited everyone was."

A post on the Red Lion's Facebook account thanked the three 'Corrie' stars for giving up their time to visit the pub and meet their fans.

It read: "Well a massive thank you to the Coronation Street cast for popping down and seeing us today!

"We hope you all had as much fun as us … it was great seeing you all."
