Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh have welcomed their second child together.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy took to Instagram to make the exciting announcement of her little one's safe arrival.

In a sweet black and white photo, Lucy and Ryan's newborn daughter can be seen curled up underneath a blanket in her mother's arms next to a toy bunny that has 'Baby Thomas' written on its ear.

The reality star captioned the photo with a love heart and shared it on her Instagram story with the message: "She’s here!"

Friends, family and fans flocked to the comments to wish the parents well with their new little one.

Her TOWIE co-star Billie Faiers wrote: "Awww congratulations darling, lots of love to you all xxx" while Love Island star Olivia Bowen added: "Congratulations Lucy."

This is the second child for the couple, who also welcomed a baby boy called Roman in March 2020, while Ryan shares daughter Scarlett with his ex-partner and former Corrie co-star Tina O'Brien.

Soap actor Ryan, who's known for his role of Jason Grimshaw on Corrie and recently starred as Rafael in Neighbours, recently revealed that he had been worried about when Lucy would give birth as her due date fell when he was in ITV's Olympic-style competition The Games.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, the actor said: "Well the problem we've got is my wife-to-be is due anytime so I'm hoping it doesn't come between the show."

Instead, the star-studded competition saw Thomas suffer an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction live in the London Aquatics Centre.

The contestants, including Strictly Come Dancing's Kevin Clifton, Love Island's Wes Nelson and Emmerdale's Rebecca Sarker, had to dive in synchronised pairs into the swimming pool from a 7.5-metre platform.

Alongside his teammate, Big Brother's Chelcee Grimes, Ryan impressed the judges with the dive, but as he later emerged from the pool the cameras caught that his trunks had slipped down.

Commentator Chris Kamara took a chance to comment on Ryan's bum being on display as he joked: "There you go... the moon is shining!"
