Helen Flanagan has spoken candidly on where her relationship stands with ex-fiance Scott Sinclair, admitting that things between them are 'difficult'. The former Coronation Street star, 33, split from fiance Scott Sinclair back in 2022, after welcoming three children during their 13 year relationship.

Taking to Instagram this week, Helen shared an insight into her 'girls day' with eldest daughter Matilda, eight, admitting it was exactly what she needed after feeling emotionally drained by the struggles of co-parenting the youngster and siblings Delilah, five, and Charlie, three.

Sharing a picture of her daughter from the day, when they enjoyed a Disney themed Afternoon Tea, Helen wrote: “Matilda wanted to go to the beauty and the beast afternoon tea @waldorfhilton and it was so lovely x I’m so proud of the beautiful girl Matilda is and how lovely and kind and fun she is and how well she adapts to change.”

“I felt really emotional that day, a lot of personal things going on and it can be extremely emotionally draining co-parenting when you have a difficult relationship,2 continued Helen in an open statement about her ex.

Thanking a couple who gave up their table after Helen was unable to get a reservation at the restaurant, Helen added: “I left my phone to try and be more present and lots of chats and cuddles and her beautiful little face.

“So grateful for Matilda, mummy got a bit teary but they were happy tears. I had therapy at the beginning of the year and I felt like I was able to come back to my natural self and not suppress my emotions and I let myself cry now,” she explained.

Opening up about how her children have been so life-changing, Helen concluded: "I felt a little bit lost before I had Matilda, when I had my baby girl it gave me a feeling of purpose and inspiration. Whenever I’m stuck in a situation and don’t know what to do, I think what would I want my daughter to do and I do that.”

The actress recently shared she was “very excited to be joining the agency this summer” after opening up about her traumatic mental health battle earlier this year which caused her to experience a terrifying psychotic episode and take two months off her social media while she recovered.
