Coronation Street's Mollie Gallagher has bravely shared her recent diagnosis in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Mollie revealed on her social media account that she had been diagnosed with ADHD after suspecting that she was living with the condition "for years". With this revelation from medical professionals, the 26 year old soap star expressed that she is "finally happy" now that aspects of her life are beginning to "make sense now."

The TV actress posted a snippet from an ADHD Chatter Podcast episode featuring author Kat Brown, where Kat talks about how the condition influences people's behaviour. Alongside the posted clip, Mollie penned: "I've just recently been diagnosed after knowing for years and I'm just finally happy that everything makes sense now."

Mollie is frequently snapped looking very different from her on-screen character Nina. The star lives in Manchester with her boyfriend Dan Myers, and the pair looked utterly loved-up in a recent selfie she posted to her Instagram page.

ADHD can often fly under the radar, especially in adults, because some symptoms may be less noticeable. The NHS website states that the most common signs include extreme restlessness, impulsiveness, and having trouble concentrating or arranging tasks.

Mollie isn't alone. Several prominent personalities have also opened up about their ADHD diagnoses like Sam Thompson, Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha, and television host Emma Watkins.

The reigning King of the Jungle and Made In Chelsea veteran, Sam, previously chatted about being diagnosed with two neurological disorders, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and autism, when he turned 30.

Actress Mollie Gallagher, famed for her role as Nina Lucas on ITV's Coronation Street, has been a fan favourite since her debut in November 2019 as Roy Cropper's long-lost niece, portrayed by David Neilson. Her character has been pivotal in some of the show's most intense plots, including a brutal hate crime storyline.

In 2023, Mollie took a spin from the cobbles to the ice rink, joining the cast of Dancing on Ice and earning heaps of support from her musician beau Dan Myers. She shared her gratitude for his encouragement, saying, "Dan is absolutely loving all my outfits. He's excited to be a part of it."

Mollie, who always aspired to shine in the entertainment industry, expressed her pride in securing a role on the iconic soap, reflecting on her journey with heartfelt appreciation: "It's probably one of the things I am most proud of, being a working class actress on a working class soap. I was lucky enough to get a full scholarship to drama school."

Mollie debuted her new hairstyle on Instagram last year, swapping her long dark hair for a choppy two-toned look with a fringe.
