Then there’s the arrival of Phill’s ex-wife Camilla (played by former Emmerdale star Louise Marwood), who makes no secret of the fact that she wants him back.
And, finally, we have Tyrone, who’s being told by Kevin to tell Fiz how he feels about her before it’s all too late. And by the end of the week, tensions have mounted further when the bride and groom discover that the registrar has been cancelled.
Tyrone, meanwhile, has presented Fiz with a pair of Vera’s vintage earrings – but will there be any cause to wear them?
Toyah steals for Spider
Returnee Spider has news for Toyah: he and his fellow activists are planning to occupy the disused Nuttall’s Brewery premises as a base of operations.
He’s also keen for Toyah to get involved but is conscious of her risking arrest while on bail. She, though, decides to embroil herself and swipes the key for the brewery building from the Bistro. But when Leanne finds out what she’s done, she’s horrified and points out that Toyah could get in serious trouble.
Later in the week, there’s a reminder for Toyah of recent heartache when she asks Saira if she can have some of Imran’s ashes to keep at home. But she reveals that her son is already buried – and also accuses Toyah of murdering Imran.
Audrey changes her will
Audrey is out of hospital and calling a family meeting. Her intention? To announce some changes to her will.
David and Sarah will be seen fussing over their gran, each hoping for a decent slice of her estate. But there will be shocked faces all round when Audrey announces that she intends to leave her money to WARTS, the Weatherfield Association of Retail Traders, in memory of Alf.
On Friday, though, she has a change of heart and tells her stunned family that she will leave them some money, but that it’s to be held in trust by Stephen, who’s also moving in with her at Grasmere Drive. David, in particular, is left horrified by the likelihood of them all having to see a lot more of him from now on.
Steve is swindled
As predicted, Jacob’s cowboy builder mate has failed to do a decent job on Steve’s roof, where leaks have already started to form. So, Tracy gets serious with her husband, telling him to hire a professional.
Arnie, the builder Steve books in, then takes a look and asks for £3,000 up front, which Steve hands over. But when he later fails to turn up to fix things, Steve realises he’s been done out of cash.
And worse is to come when the scaffolder subsequently arrives asking for payment. As Steve explains that scaffolding was part of the original quote, it soon becomes clear that this wasn’t the case. So, Steve has been scammed twice over.
