The King Charles coronation celebrations: in pictures
Saturday 6 May was a day for the history books, as King Charles III was officially crowned as monarch of the United Kingdom, alongside Camilla as his Queen Consort. The coronation ceremony was broadcast live from Westminster Abbey, with millions watching from around the globe, and celebrated with all the pomp and pageantry expected from such a momentous royal event.
Of course there are plenty of other events taking place across the long weekend to mark the occasion too, from the big coronation concert to the nationwide lunch, while many will be hosting neighbourhood street parties or enjoying the specialised celebrations up and down the country. The senior members of the royal family will be out in full force, including William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their three children, while Prince Harry also flew in from California for the festivities.

Continuing the coronation celebrations, the Prince and Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at a special coronation garden party at Buckingham Palace. William wore a traditional top hat and morning suit, while Kate rewore a favourite Elie Saab outfit previously seen at Royal Ascot.
