Content founder Imelda Burke worked in fashion for 20 years before opening Content Beauty & Wellbeing in 2008. The site has since grown to become one of the leading organic and natural apothecary sites in the UK.

Home to a curated selection of natural and organic beauty brands teamed with an edit of conscious clothing, vintage clothing, recycled jewellery, books and zero waste living products, CONTENT is a haven for green beauty fans. In line with her ethos, Burke shares her top ethical and natural buys below:

The ultimate oil cleanser

Chia + Moringa Algae Enzyme Cleansing Oil, £50, Mara at Cult Beauty. This feels like a luxe oil cleanser, but has the added brightening benefits of four fruit enzymes.

For glowing skin

Master Radiance Base, £35, RMS Beauty. This is the skin equivalent of having a twinkle in your eye. I always get comments on how well and ‘glowy’ I look when wearing this subtle highlighting base.

Super-charged mask

Manuka Honey Hydrating Gel Mask, £50, Naturopathica. I’m a big fan of using manuka honey on the skin. This makes it easy to get the benefits without the ‘stickiness’.

Vitamin C with a dash of mushroom

Sunnyside C Glow Serum, £59, Holifrog. I’m all about the glow and I love this vitamin C serum for its added mushroom mix of chaga (anti-inflammatory) and snow (hydrating).

Raspberry tint

The Balmies in Raspberry, £12, Axiology. My favourite new discovery. Easy to apply, you can use them on eyes, lips and cheeks. Entirely plastic-free and all packaging is made from paper and card.

Mad about baths? Try this

Soak Bath Salts, £35, Mirror Water. If you’re as mad about baths as I am, try these. You’ll feel like you’ve had the benefits of both a salty ocean swim and a relaxing walk in a forest.

Imelda’s top tip

Before buying another serum, clinically tested and proven to work in 21 days, try 21 early nights. As a night owl, revamping my sleep routine makes an amazing difference to my skin.
