Another player who was a doubt but has still made it to the team was Pape Matar Sarr who had been struggling but has made it into the team even though Ange Postecoglou hinted he would start in his team news.

The Tottenham manager said ahead of the game: “He is OK. He was not 100 per cent well going into the game, he had an illness the last couple of days.

“But he was keen to give everything to start and I had a feeling he would last 60 or 70 minutes. It is a short turnaround to Friday but I am pretty confident he will be OK.

On Udogie, Postecoglou said: “He felt a bit of tightness.

“Again, when we got the second goal with the short turnaround, we thought it was wise to take him off. Again, I do not think it is anything significant.”

He wasn’t well against Fulham but he’s passed fit should be ready to go.
