Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart might've been hit by break up rumours before (more about that later), but according to new reports, the couple have called it quits for good after three years of dating.
Page Six claim the twosome recently split and have since been quarantining separately during the coronavirus pandemic, with an insider commenting, "Cole and Lili split before the pandemic hit, and have been quarantining separately. They remain good friends."
While neither of the stars have spoken out about the split claims, Lili told W Magazine in April that she was quarantining alone with her dog, Milo, while Cole's on-screen Riverdale dad, Skeet Ulrich, recently spoke about their relationship in the past tense.
During an Instagram Live with his girlfriend, Megan Blake Irwin, they answered a fan question about whether Cole and Lili are a cute couple. "I think they were a very cute couple," Skeet responded, while Megan added, "They were a very cute couple. They're both beautiful people."
Were seems to suggest a split, right?
The pair have previously been at the centre of split speculation on multiple occasions, with Lili shutting down rumours they had gone their separate ways in July 2019. Her tweet at the time read, "Don’t believe everything you read on the internet, kids. And news sources should try a little harder to be less vile. ‘Reliable sources’ can kiss my ass.”
In April 2020, Sprouse also hit out at rumours he had cheated with model Kaia Gerber, insisting on Instagram Stories: “When I first stepped into a public relationship this was one of the foreseeable consequences. And while I truly never intended to indulge any part of my private life to the ravenous horde, it’s clear my restraint in updating them has allowed them to push their own agenda onto my habits and lifestyle.”
Whether their lack of response to these claims in confirmation of the split remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: we'll be gutted if the Riverdale romance has come to an end.
