Claudia, who co-hosts the BBC ballroom competition with Tess Daly, opened up about how she suffers with imposter syndrome, and often thinks she will be replaced.
However, in the interview with You magazine, she described it as an “incredibly useful” feeling, as it keeps her “on her toes”.
“I’m just waiting to be fired,” Claudia said. “I’m waiting for somebody to tap me on the shoulder and go, ‘Oh, sorry, we’ve got this all wrong, you are not allowed to go in again, we’ve got Rylan instead’, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.”
She continued: “Imposter syndrome is incredibly useful.
“Feeling – don’t throw up – grateful and slightly surprised I think is a good thing. It keeps you on your toes.”
Claudia first began her relationship with Strictly by fronting companion series It Takes Two in 2004.
She began hosting the Sunday night’s results show when Bruce Forsyth reduced his workload in 2010, before taking over from him full time in 2014.
Claudia is set to return to the ballroom alongside Tess for the 18th series of Strictly next month.
The start of the series has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and will run for four weeks shorter than usual this year.
