New and classic Christmas movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney +

The best part about the winter months - beside snuggly cashmere jumpers, luxury beauty advent calendars, crackling log fires and eating and drinking inordinate amounts of red wine and cheese - has to be settling down on the sofa to enjoy some classic Christmas films. Nothing gets us in the festive spirit faster - and let's face it, we could all do with some extra festive cheer and fun after the last 18 months.

In our humble opinion, it's never too early to get the Xmas movies rolling - and our list this year will of course include romantic classics such as Love Actually, The Holiday, Life is Beautiful and Elf. As well as enjoying these over and over again, there's also some new festive films coming to Netflix, Amazon Prime TV and Disney + that we can watch from November.

Vanessa Hudgens will be back to play not two, but three roles for the third instalment of The Princess Switch stories. The actress will play Queen Margaret, Princess Stacy and Margaret's cousin Fiona in the hit Netflix drama.

The streamer will also debut its first gay rom-com Single All the Way, starring Michael Urie, and Legally Blonde legend Jennifer Coolidge. Plus, Netflix recently confirmed that Love Actually will be returning on November 16th.

Meanwhile, Home Alone has been rebooted into a new movie called Home Sweet Home Alone, starring Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea and Ellie Kemper. Much like the original, the drama follows a young boy who has been abandoned over the festive period and is confronted by a couple trying to steal an heirloom from his home. While you wait for that to arrive, you can rewatch Macaulay Culkin's original, which always gets us feeling happily nostalgic and very christmassy.
