Cindy Crawford looks stunning in statement-making purple gown
Cindy Crawford looked stunning on Thursday night as she and her husband Rande Gerber attended George and Amal Clooney’s second annual Albie Awards at the New York Public Library in New York City.
Named after Justice Albie Sachs, a former judge who worked to end apartheid in South Africa, the event is designed to honour and shine a light on defenders of justice across the world.
For the occasion, the supermodel wore a statement-making purple dress complete with a thigh-high split by Versace. The gown featured gorgeous lace detailing on the bodice and the signature safety pins the luxury designer became known for.
She teamed the vibrant purple gown with contrasting metallic accessories – a pair of strappy silver heels and a matching clutch finished the outfit perfectly. For her beauty look, Cindy wore her signature brunette hair in soft waves. Meanwhile, her husband wore a sharp black suit and tie.
The couple, who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year, were joined at the gala by other celebrities including Julianne Moore, Viola Davis, Heidi Klum as well as Rachael Weisz and her husband Daniel Craig.
George and Amal Clooney, along with the the president of the Ford Foundation, Darren Walker, hosted the first-ever Albies awards last year.
“Courageous justice defenders around the world face grave dangers that cannot be eliminated overnight,” said Amal and George Clooney. “But what we can do, in addition to our Foundation’s daily work, is shine a spotlight on the danger that these individuals are facing, raising the stakes for their persecutors.”
During the ceremony, Congolese gynecologist and human rights advocate Dr. Denis Mukwege received a Lifetime Achievement Award, while journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi were honoured with the Justice For Women Award.
