A CHURCH building in Poole has reopened following a year-long project to upgrade the facilities there.

The Gateway Church building in Alder Road has had multiple improvements, including a new purpose-built meeting space for more than 200 people, renovations to existing halls and developments to open up the site and make it more accessible.

Pastor at the church, Matthew Hosier, said: “The church has been at this location since 1925 and we’re pleased to have a facility that will now better serve our growing congregation and the community.”

While the works were being carried out, the church had multiple meetings at its other building in Ashley Road.

To celebrate the reopening of the building, Gateway Church will be having a community fun day on Saturday, March 25, from 2pm to 4pm.

Mr Hosier added: “We want to open up the doors and invite those in the local area to come and join us for the afternoon at this free event. We’ll have games, refreshments, live music, a chance to have a look at the new facilities and something for all ages - all are welcome.”
