Christopher Nolan may be best known for his Batman trilogy, and now he's back with new movie Tenet, starring Robert Pattinson – who just so happens to be the new Batman.
The actor has talked about sneaking away from the set for a screen test, and finding out he got the role on his first day on set (which one is it Rob, which one is it?!).
But what does Nolan think about the star of his new movie playing the character he made three films about?
Speaking to Singaporean news network CNA, Nolan said that he let Pattinson do his own thing, rather than give him preconceived ideas about how he did it back in the day.
"He certainly did not ask me for any advice," Nolan stated. "We kept a respectful silence around the issue 'til very near the end of the shoot.
"We said a couple of things and made a couple of jokes. We did have a little bit of a conversation about the various aspects of what he was going to be putting himself through.
"But I was thrilled that he was cast. I think that he'll do an amazing job and I'm really excited to see what he does with that character."
Pattinson did admit that he did have a conversation with Christian Bale about one aspect of playing the Dark Knight: going to the bathroom while wearing the costume.
Tenet is in UK cinemas now, and will be released in US cinemas from September 3
