Christopher Kane has launched his debut bridal collection in his Mount Street store. The London Fashion Week designer will now welcome fashion-forward brides into the boutique for fittings, where they will find his very modern take on bridalwear.

The collection – which launched on Matches Fashion as part of its new bridal edit earlier this year – is made up of beautiful gowns, mini dresses, feathered veils and sparkly pieces, all of which will be befitting for the most stylish of brides.

"I always use my archive for the lead on the inspiration for custom gowns; I applied that same logic to bridal," the designer said. "There’s a lot of Christopher Kane DNA present in the collection: lace, crystals, chainmail, feathers across silhouettes that can be worn for a rehearsal dinner, drinks reception, church or registry office."

Standout pieces from the collection include a high-necked, full-length, sleeved lace gown, a mini dress with an exaggerated skirt and a midi with cut-out detail, feathers and crystals.

The bride-to-be can book a complimentary consultation with a bridal specialist in the Christopher Kane store, where they will have access to an atelier seamstress to make basic alterations, but can also have the option of bespoke tailoring, where sleeves can be added or hem lengths altered, for example.

With lockdown easing, brides will now be able to attend fittings in person and will have the opportunity to bring one other person with them. During the fitting, they can then video call other members of the bridal party to ensure nobody misses out, but without compromising on Covid-19 safety guidelines.

"A Christopher Kane bride is someone who has the strength of character to do whatever they like on their wedding day," sister and co-founder Tammy Kane said. "They don’t feel the pressure to conform to the traditional sartorial rules."
