Christine Lampard has revealed that she and husband Frank's second baby is due in April, after announcing the happy news of her pregnancy on Instagram last weekend.
During an appearance on Loose Women on Tuesday (12 January), the 41-year-old explained that she has already passed the 20-week point in her pregnancy.
The Northern Irish TV star made her pregnancy announcement with a lovely photo of her growing bump, adding in the accompanying caption: "A new year and a new baby on the way for the Lampards!"
When asked why she had waited to share the news with fans, Christine revealed: "It wasn't even that it was a big secret because I think most people that I know knew certainly, but it was a lot of to do with the fact that every time I kind of went to do the little Instagram post, Boris would beat me to it and announce something dreadful on the news so it never felt like it was an appropriate moment to share a little bit of family happiness.
"It was just one of those things, suddenly another week went by and you know what I'm like anyway, I'm very cautious with this, and a bit kind of low-key and no-fuss," she continued. "So, it sort of suited me to tick things along, to get to a point where you felt relatively safe, if you can do at any point in a pregnancy. But it just felt nice to get past the 12-week phase and then suddenly it was past 20. So it just kind of happened!"
Chatting about when the baby will arrive, Christine explained that there isn't a fixed due date.
"Well, because dates aren't exactly – we're not entirely sure – but we're thinking by the size of it, April," she said. "April is when it is. Early April. It's not that far away. Before Christmas, we thought once January comes suddenly we're in the third trimester part, and yeah, it'll be here before we know it so we can't believe it."
Opening up about giving birth during the pandemic, the TV host added: "I definitely do [worry]. It's the unknown, you don't quite know what the outcome is going to be. You just have to look after yourself as best you can."
She continued: "Hospital appointments and things have changed, you can't bring people with you and stuff. And that's fine, I don't mind doing that, that's what you have to do. But again I'm sort of thinking ahead to April and what will happen at that point, hopefully the world will be in a much better place. But ideally I would like Frank alongside me! I don't want to do it on my own. And lots of women did have to do that first time around.
"So there's just a lot of uncertainty and you're just trying to be overly protective and I really do try to be as cautious as I possibly can."
Christine and football star husband Frank are already parents to two-year-old daughter Patricia, who they welcomed in 2018. Frank also has two teenage daughters, 15-year-old Luna and 13-year-old Isla, from a previous relationship. He and Christine tied the knot in 2015, and celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in December.
Many congratulations to the Lampards!
