Christina Aguilera has ‘done an Adele’ and released a teaser for her upcoming video to promote her latest music, in which she looks almost unrecognisable.

On Tuesday, the pop star took to Instagram to share a photograph of her newly-dyed red hair from the set of a recent music video.

‘Pa Mis Muchachas,’ she captioned the sultry snap, which is believed to be the title of her new EP. In the photo the star wears elbow-length black gloves with sheer detailing, a black plungeneck top and silver earrings.

In a similar vein to her hit 2001 single ‘Lady Marmalade’ (now doesn't that show our age!) it appears the 40-year-old has collaborated with several other musicians for her latest single.

Sharing screenshots of the video on Instagram, in which she’s dressed in an all-black leather look with retro cat-eye sunglasses, the star tagged artists including Becky G, Nicki Nicole and Nathy Peluso, who are believed to provide their vocals for the song.

Aguilera also revealed the release date (October 19) for her new song, writing ‘viernes’, which means Friday in Spanish.

In one snippet from the video, two women dressed in leather ensembles walk through a busy bar as Spanish-influenced guitar music plays over the top. In another, Aguilera in seen sitting atop what appears to be a throne.

‘Pa' Mis Muchachas,’ will be one of the EPs from the singer’s second Spanish album following her first - Mi Reflejo - in 2000.

Aguilera has dipped in and out of the spotlight since her Nineties/Noughties heyday following the release of hit singles like 'Genie In A Bottle', 'Dirrty', 'Candyman' and and 'Can’t Hold Us Down'.

The star is now also a mother of two children: Max Liron, 13, from her first marriage to Jordan Bratman, and Summer Rain Rutler, seven, from her relationship to fiancé Matthew Rutler.

In 2018 the singer released her eighth studio album Liberation, which received a three-star review from the Guardian and featured collaborations with the likes of Kanye West and Demi Lovato.
