A 34-31 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, Jan. 28, brought what was somewhat of a historic season to an end for the Detroit Lions. A 49ers squad, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, are all that stood between the Lions and their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.
In fact, it was the first playoff appearance for the Lions since the 2016 season, and until this season, they hadn’t won a playoff game since January of 1992.
By all standards, the team’s season was a success. They made it farther in post-season play than they have in more than 30 years, and while we’re sure there’s a sense of disappointment among the players and fans that they couldn’t pull off a Super Bowl berth, we know that there’s at least one fan who is proud of the squad no matter what: Christen Harper.
The model is the fiancé of Lions quarterback Jared Goff, and a huge supporter of the team. She has made as much known for the three seasons that the athlete has been with the squad—attending both home and away games and cheering for the team decked out in her best Lions gear.
She made as much known yet again with a sweet Instagram post on Jan. 29, celebrating the team and her fiancé following their impressive season.
“What a season 🤍,” she captioned the carousel, which featured a few of her game day outfits, her afternoons spent cheering on Goff alongside friends and a couple of sweet snaps and videos of the pair sharing moments together in the stadium.
Harper will, no doubt, be found back in the same spot next season—ready to cheer on her fiancé and his team.
