Chrissy Teigen is mid-way through her third pregnancy, expecting a baby with husband John Legend (the gender of which she accidentally revealed on social media last week, oops).

As per usual, Chrissy has been transparent about all the highs and lows of her pregnancy experience, and most recently the Cravings cookbook author has revealed a particularly unusual symptom.

Over on Twitter today, Chrissy posted: 'I’m having a lot of pain on the bridge of my nose. Super tender. I know when you’re [pregnant], they say your nose "spreads" and I believe it because I’ve seen it on myself! But has it ever caused pain for anyone?'

Anyone else new to this 'nose spreading' information?!

The NHS doesn't list nose spreading as a proven symptom of pregnancy, as it seems more to be something that's been passed down as an old-wives' tale through the years. Nevertheless, it's evidently a symptom some women can relate to, because by the looks of the comments on Chrissy's post, she's not the only one to have experienced it.

'[My nose] was extra puffy,' wrote one follower. 'My 3rd baby was almost ten pounds and I’m pretty sure my nose carried half the weight. I felt extra sniffly, [sic]' she added.

Another Twitter user could also relate. 'Omg I swear I’ve noticed this! Like I can see my nose getting bigger and every once in a while will feel a mild pain like I got hit in the nose! I thought I was nuts! Pregnancy is so grand, [sic]' she replied.

While medical research into the apparent change is very limited, it has been suggested that hormonal changes could be responsible for a swelling in the nose (and other body parts) of expectant mothers.

Other women on Chrissy's post reported no change in the size of their nose... but instead an increase in the size of their feet during pregnancy. 'Not my nose but my feet grew a full size when I was pregnant! And they never went back to normal,' commented one of her followers.

'[With] each of my last 3 babies my foot size went up 1/2 a size and never went back,' posted another. 'One of my sisters before pregnancy wore a size 4 in shoes, she's petite, with each of her two pregnancies she grew a show size so from then on wore a size 6,' said a third.

Imagine having to buy a new set of shoes after each pregnancy... the inconvenience of it all.

Nose spreading isn't the only prolific symptom mum-of-two Chrissy Teigen has noticed during this pregnancy; recently she also shared that she's been experiencing intense headaches during pregnancy and that Botox has been helping her to manage them.

'I get really really bad pregnancy headaches,' she said online. 'Was thrilled to be cleared to do neck muscle botox along with a crazy combo of beta blocker shots and radio wave frequency something something doctor terms. Anyhow man it’s just so bad but I see the light finally.'

Suffering headaches during pregnancy is quite common, especially during the early stages. '[They] usually improve or stop completely during the last six months,' reads the NHS website.

Here's hoping the rest of her pregnancy passes without too many other ailments!
