Chrissy Teigen has made a return to social media following the deeply sad loss of their baby son at the end of last month, to tell followers that she and husband John are "ok".

After announcing the devastating news on Instagram in late September, the 34-year-old returned to the platform to reshare a series of tweets from her husband John Legend, in which he also posted a clip of the performance he dedicated to his wife at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday.

The tweets read: "This is for Chrissy. I love and cherish you and our family so much. We’ve experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together. Watching you carry our children has been so moving and humbling.

"I’m in awe of the strength you’ve shown through the most challenging moments. What an awesome gift it is to be able to bring life into the world. We’ve experienced the miracle, the power and joy of this gift, and now we’ve deeply felt its inherent fragility."

Chrissy captioned the post: "We are quiet but we are okay. Love you all so much."

The couple announced that they had lost their baby mid-way through pregnancy, posting a heartbreaking picture with the caption: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough."

Since then, Chrissy has been laying low on social media.

Chrissy, it's great to see you back and to know that you're getting through, and our thoughts are with your family at this time.
