Chrissy Teigen is the latest celebrity taking on the copper hair trend
Chrissy Teigen has become the latest celebrity to adopt the copper-red hair trend, debuting a glossy new colour via Instagram this week. The American model and television personality has retired her tonal brunette locks in favour of a dimensional sun-kissed chestnut, complete with face-framing auburn highlights, which she shared in a candid reel captioned: "Breaking news: woman gets new hair colour".
The post showcases the 37-year-old's vibrant new hue via a bouncy nineties blowdry, a fresh and curvaceous layered look that closely resembles the iconic "Rachel" cut. The post was followed by another more formal styling of her new shade; a sleek up-do with wavy tendrils, which Teigen sported for the launch of her husband John Legend's Lovedº1 skincare line.
Her rich new red is courtesy of celebrity colourist Matt Rez, who was also responsible for creating Kendall Jenner's much-copied 2022 copper shade.

Teigen's transformation may be the latest warm hue dominating Instagram feeds, but this is far from the first auburn switch we've witnessed in the last year. Gigi Hadid, Sydney Sweeney and Lily James have all had fleeting affairs with fiery tones – though have since returned to their roots – while Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton have remained loyal to their rich new reds since trading in their blonde hair last year. Emily in Paris star Camille Razat was the latest to adopt the trend, unveiling her hair transformation during Paris Fashion Week.
