Chrissy Teigen took to her Instagram Story this week to call out body shamers who criticised her for having an eyebrow transplant. The 35-year-old model turned cookbook writer had been excited to share the results of her transformation with her 36 million followers, revealing she'd made the decision to have the transplant so she could continue to "avoid" wearing makeup.

"I never wear makeup if I can avoid it," she told her fans on social media. "So I was excited for this eyebrow transplant surgery where they take hairs from the back of your head."

In a post on his own socials, the doctor who carried out the surgery spoke about the benefits of having an eyebrow transplant for those who have over plucked their brows or whose brows are thinning with age.

"Eyebrows play a huge part of the facial aesthetic. They frame the eyes and can either be an asset to the eyes, or they can be the annoying part of your morning you have to spend ten minutes filling in," Dr Jason Diamond told his followers. "I know too many people, entire generations, who either over plucked brows as part of the trend or are simply experiencing eyebrow thinning with time. #EyebrowTransplantation is a procedure where we mutually agree on shape, density, etc., and skill takes it from there."

Later, the mum-of-two proudly showed off the results of the procedure on her Instagram Story, but it wasn't long before she was inundated with negative comments from online trolls.

"The world is going to hell in a hand basket but thank heaven that Chrissy Teigen was able to transplant her eyebrows!" one person tweeted in response to her procedure, with another person tweeting that she is "clueless."

Sharing a screenshot of the backlash she received to her Story, Chrissy said: "WHY are people so f**king riled up over any little thing I do? You're gonna give yourselves a heart attack."

But, it's not the first time the 35-year-old has taken to social media to defend herself against body shamers. After posting a swimsuit selfie last year, Chrissy expertly shut down a troll who said she's "shaped like Spongebob."

"I know you ain't talking," the former model replied, adding "It's ok I’ve been a rectangle my whole life and it’s gotten me pretty far!"

Now that is what we call a comeback.
