Thor doesn’t get jet lag. Among the many advantages of being the God of Thunder is never landing in a new town feeling groggy and out of sorts—probably because the Asgardian rarely travels by plane, instead preferring to hitch a ride on his trusty Mjolnir, or simply teleport via the Bifrost to anywhere in the nine realms.
His Midgardian alter-ego, though, does have to deal with jet lag, as Chris Hemsworth recently revealed in an Instagram post. As you can imagine, the Australian-born action star spends a lot of time traveling, sans magical hammer, and probably touches down feeling a bit groggy and out of sorts.
The extremely buff Hemsworth copes in a way you might expect: With exercise. “Punching my way through jet lag,” he wrote in a caption, tagging his fitness app, Centr, and its high-intensity interval training workouts. (He’s shared the HIIT workout he’s using to get in shape for the Extraction sequel.) “Nothing gets you over a long trip like a punchy workout,” the Extraction star concluded.
The accompanying pictures captured Hemsworth mid-punch, clearly giving it his all. The 38-year-old has been preparing to play Hulk Hogan in an upcoming, as-yet-unnamed biopic. He’s been radically bulking up, last year telling Total Film, “I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor." He’s also shared plenty of pictures along his journey to a Hulkamania-sized upper body that puts even a Norse god to shame. (Nevermind those rumours about his skipping leg day.)
