Chris Evans reveals he sleeps on a separate floor to wife Natasha

Chris Evans has revealed that he and wife Natasha Shishmanian sleep on separate floors of their house.

The Virgin Radio host told breakfast show listeners that the couple have adopted the unusual sleeping arrangement since welcoming twins Boo and Walt in September, as his early morning schedule interrupts their sleeping pattern.

“Since the twins were born Tash and I are on different floors because I get up at silly o’clock,” he said on today’s show.

“I can’t wake the twins up. Never wake a sleeping baby – times that by two for the twins.

“The shower wakes them up. I need to go to bed at silly o’clock and they’re sometimes still awake then.”

The 52-year-old went on to explain that he’d embraced the chance to create a relaxing, minimalist atmosphere in his room, inspired by de-cluttering expert Marie Kondo, and said that his wife often retreats there for some much-needed “peace and quiet.”

“I’ve had the chance to Marie Kondo my room,” he said. There’s nothing in my room any more. I’ve got a plant I bought for someone else.

“I’ve also got a cabinet in my room but there’s nothing in it. What’s in my cabinet? Space.

“Got my plant, got my cabinet – that’s it. My wife comes into my bedroom for a bit of peace and quiet.”

Evans launched his Virgin Radio breakfast show in January, having handed over his long-standing BBC Radio 2 slot to Zoe Ball.

The presenter married professional golfer Shishmanian in 2007, and the couple are also parents to Noah, nine, and Eli, six.
