From Cosmopolitan

Cheryl has us reeling from her latest Cannes Film Festival appearance. Let's face it, Kendall Jenner can turn up all she likes but it is Cheryl's Riviera rendezvous that keep us up all night.

And this year is no different, with the pop star taking a leaf out of the Jenner/Kardashian's book and trying her hand at naked dressing.

Just HOW gorge is this sheer, white tulle gown?

Ever since the former Girls Aloud star took to the Cannes red carpet in 2010 in that side cut-out white number, we haven't looked back.

Well, until now.

We take you through Cheryl's transformation from 'nailed it' to 'NAILED IT'...

2010

It was this sexy-yet-sophisticated white Versace number that made Cheryl a real style contender at Cannes. For her first appearance at the festival, Cheryl had us all a flutter from behind our screens in the UK thanks to the show-stopper.

2011

Knowing that she'd basically scored the fashion equivalent of a home run with her debut Cannes gown, we're not surprised Cheryl stepped things up even more the following year. Enter this dramatic, plunging Stephane Rolland gown.

2012

For the premiere of 'Amour' at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, Cheryl broke all the red carpet rules when she upstaged the leading actress by wearing the most beautiful gown of the night. The Stephane Rolland number was just the right mix of romantic-meets-drama and look perfect paired with her wavy side 'do and glowing skin.

2013

While the world was mostly distracted by Cheryl's oh-so-incredible loose fishtail plait and bronzed make-up, we couldn't help but fall in love with her dress. Zuhair Murad was to thank for this maroon gown with ALL the sparkles.

2014

We wonder if Cheryl knew it was going to be windy when she hit the red carpet in this mini dress with train. You have to admit, a bit of of breeze kind of makes the whole thing even better.

2015

Cheryl surprised us all when she rocked up in 2015 wearing a couture Ralph and Russo gown. The caped, high-neck gown is oh-so 'fashion' and basically proved to us that Cheryl's style is only getting better with time. Also, can we talk about that textured up-do and muted makeup situation? It's giving us ALL the feels.

2016

Every year we think Cheryl has worn her best ever Cannes outfit and then the next year happens and she manages to out-do herself AGAIN. 2016 was no exception as the star basically won at life in this multi-coloured dress of dreams by Naeem Khan. The sequins, the shape, the colour, the everything. Cheryl, we bow down to you.

The L'Oréal ambassador commented "My Cannes red carpet look is very different to previous years, I wanted to be colourful and summery. I fell in love with the Naaem Khan dress when I saw the colours and detailed embroidery and I enjoyed having a bright bold lip (Sexy balm in Bold Adventure, FYI) that complimented the dress".

2018

Cheryl may have skipped the Cannes red carpet in 2017 but in 2018, the star was back with a vengeance. In a dress that reminded us of Kendall Jenner's own white tulle sheer gown, this was the first time Cheryl did the whole 'naked dress' thing, and we love it!
