During lockdown last year, many celebrities felt more accessible than ever thanks to social media - sharing their born-out-of-boredom hair transformations with the world.

Candyfloss pink seemed to be the hair dye of choice, and then their were the more debatable DIY jobs, such as Lana Del Rey's lemon lightening, and Kaia Gerber's rather alarming decision to reach for the household bleach (never do this!)

Others chose to "keep it real" for their fans, unveiling their natural hair textures and colours. Lily Allen took a selfie showing her grown-out greys, and Ariana Grande and Vanessa Hudgens both gave fans a glimpse of their natural curly texture, usually straightened and loaded with extensions for the camera.

And then their were the A-listers who just disappeared, not so much as a messy top knot or face mask selfie for us to pass the time staring at. One of those fallen-off-the-face-of-the-planet celebs was Cheryl (Cole/Tweedy), who last posted a black square on June 2nd 2020 and then... nada.

No doubt she spent the time indulging in her son, Bear (we don't blame her). But she's back, and she's gone nought to 100 with a super-glam selfie, which she captioned: "We back ✌🏼 **all covid tested ✅."

What's she back for? We have no idea, but we are very much into her voluminous shag haircut, with its layered fringe and crown section, and mussed-up curls running through the mid-length to ends.

Cheryl's celebrity pals were quick to flood her comments section. Bandmate Kimberley Walsh commented: "There she is 😍" and Alesha Dixon added: "Missed you @cherylofficial ❤️"

For now, we'll just wait patiently to see what she's been working on, but that won't stop us from staring at her new 'do and wishing it was ours *sigh*
