When it comes to a celebrity transformation, we have one motto: the more dramatic, the better. A lot of A-listers tend to find their signature go-to look: just look at Ariana Grande’s sky-high hairstyles, Jennifer Lopez’s caramel balayage and Hailey Bieber’s surfer girl beach waves. But then, you get those who suddenly get the itch to try some new, like the time Nicole Scherzinger chopped off her iconic long hair in favour of a short, choppy bob.

Now, Charlize Theron is the latest celeb to undergo a dramatic hair transformation – and it’s a good’un, guys. Alongside some stellar roles, the actor is known for her beach blonde locks – need we remind you of that iconic Dior advert where her golden hair colour extended into golden body paint? In fact, it was almost impossible to imagine her without her sunkissed hair.

But now, Charlize has debuted a new look while attending a party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. The actor’s blonde hair has been dyed dark brunette with very subtle brown highlights. And that’s not all. She’s also sporting a new haircut. Ditching her signature bob, Charlize’s hairstylist Adir Abergel gave her an edgy and super choppy mullet. Yes, guys, we have another fully-fledged member of the mullet club.

So, let’s get this straight, at a time where everybody is dyeing their hair lighter and cutting in bobs for summer, Charlize has gone and done the opposite? We love a trendsetting Queen.

Of course, the mullet really suits her and involves a choppy, piece-y fringe that skims her eyebrows, too. I’m sure this won’t be the last dramatic hairstyle we see this summer.
