Congratulations to Charlene White, who made her debut as a new Loose Women anchor this week (11th January).

The 40-year-old ITN reader has previously appeared on the ITV show as a guest host, and notably fronted the show's groundbreaking first all-black panel last year.

Charlene has been lead presenter of ITV News London since 2019, and has two children with her partner Andy.

"We're all so happy you’re here," announced fellow anchor Nadia Sawalha as she welcomed Charlene into the studio.

"This is rather exciting, isn't it?" said Charlene as she took her seat on the panel. "I am very happy, thank you so much for having me, ladies."

"You’re one of us now," added fellow panellist Stacey Solomon, who said she has "been waiting" to do the show with Charlene "for ages".

“I am, I’m officially a Loose Woman,” smiled Charlene, who was shown a montage of her best bits from her previous appearances on the show to welcome her to her new gig.

“I am honestly absolutely stoked. I have been buzzing all this time to be able to reveal that I am the latest and the newest Loose Woman."

Reacting to the positive response she received from fans following the show, Charlene tweeted: "Wow... slightly overwhelmed by all the very kind messages, thanks so much! I’m so excited to join the @loosewomen ladies as the new host. Both on and off screen it’s a talented team who are a joy to work with. (And for those asking, I’m still very much part of the @itvnews team!)"

Charlene takes over following Andrea McLean's departure from the series after 13 years. Saira Khan also recently stepped down from the show to concentrate on other media projects and her new skincare range.

Loose Women weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
