Chantelle Houghton has insisted she "will always be friends" with her ex-husband Preston.

The reality TV star famously met The Ordinary Boys frontman, full name Samuel Preston, inside the Celebrity Big Brother house in January 2006 and they announced their engagement that April. They tied the knot in August 2006 but the marriage was short-lived and they separated in June 2007.

Almost 15 years on from their split, Chantelle has revealed to New magazine that they still keep in touch and will "always be friends".

"We text every few months or something like that. We'll always be friends. We've got such special memories together and have inside jokes no one else would get. It's nice that we've kept what we had," she shared.

The 38-year-old stated that she doesn't see their short-lived union as "a failed marriage" because was only 21 at the time.

"What me and Preston... our marriage was completely real. I loved him wholeheartedly and wanted to marry him," she insisted. "I don't look at it as a failed marriage because I was 21 and we were in a crazy world back then... I don't look at it as a real-life marriage, even though it was."

The reality star was due to marry her partner Michael Strutt but they called off their engagement last January. Chantelle told the publication that she is keen to walk down the aisle again.

"I'd love to get married. I know I have been married before," she admitted. "I'd love to do it again, though."

Chantelle won the 2006 series of Celebrity Big Brother, despite going into the competition as a non-celebrity, while Preston came fourth.
