Channing Tatum reveals reason why he and Jenna Dewan divorced for the first time

Channing Tatum has opened up about the reason behind his divorce from ex-wife Jenna Dewan, explaining it has put him off marriage for life.

The 42-year-old Magic Mike actor met Jenna while filming Step Up back in 2006. They tied the knot three years later in 2009, before welcoming their first and only child together, Everly, in 2013.

Fans and Hollywood alike were shocked in 2018 when the pair announced their separation, with their divorce finalising in November 2019. Now, Channing has opened up to Vanity Fair about what happened, explaining how the couple became more aware of their differing opinions on everything from parenthood to life.

"We fought for [our marriage] for a really long time, even though we both sort of knew that we had sort of grown apart," he explained. "But when you’re actually parents, you really understand differences between the two of you. Because it is screaming at you all day long. How you parent differently, how you look at the world, how you go through the world."

On the time period when they started to separate, he continued, "In the beginning, it was super scary and terrifying. Your life just turns on its axis. This whole plan that you had literally just turns into sand and goes through your fingers and you’re just like, 'Oh, shit. What now?'"

The actor is now dating Zoe Kravitz from Big Little Lies, after meeting on the set of film Pussy Island in 2021, but Channing isn't sure another nuptials is on the cards. "I don’t know if I’m ever going to get married again," he disclosed. "Relationships are hard for me. Even though I am a bit of a monogamist."
