If there's one thing you need to see today, it's definitely Channing Tatum dressed in a magical fairy princess outfit to promote his first children's book.
Showing an impressive amount of dedication, the Hollywood actor wore fairy wings, an eye mask and a colourful paint splattered apron to announce the release of 'The One and Only Sparkella', a book he wrote for his seven-year-old daughter Everly while in lockdown.
"Guys, I don’t know about you but things got a little weird for me in quarantine," he wrote to his Instagram followers. "I ended up accidentally locking myself in my 7 year old daughter’s room. And I ended up finding my inner child. So this is what I created for my little girl. From what is, I guess, the little girl in me. Thanks for reading."
The post was flooded with replies from his famous friends, including actor Dax Shepard who joked, "My goodness brother, there must have also been a really nice set of weights in that room! That little princess right there can move some weight."
While Hidden Figures star Octavia Spencer wrote that Everly, who Channing shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, "will cherish that wonderful time with you!!!!"
Channing's book, which tells the story of a young girl who gets teased for loving sparkly things, is described as "a charming ode to self-esteem and the love between a father and daughter."
People magazine also got their hands on the book's sweet dedication, which begins, "To Everly, the most brilliant magical being that I have ever known. You are my greatest teacher. My only wish is for more time in this life to play in all of the magical realms we have created. This is also for all Dads that might have a little girl… Wear whatever, dance however, and be as magical as you can. Because I promise they will return the love."
Parents and kids eager to check out the Hollywood star's debut should mark May 4th, 2021 in the diaries. You can preorder it here.
