If you're not quite over summer yet, you might want to look away, as a 24/7 Christmas movie channel is about to launch in the UK.

Yep, with a whole 104 days to go until Christmas Day, it seems some people are already starting to get into the festive spirit. Or, at least, the TV advertising bosses are banking on it.

And whether you like it or not, Christmas is coming. Fancy advent calendars are beginning to be released, Netflix has released its list of 2020 Christmas specials, and the dark nights are drawing in. Which I guess means it might be time to Sony Movies Christmas snuggle up in front of?

"Santa and his elves aren’t the only people working its stockings off to ensure there’s enough Christmas content to keep you in a seasonal mood right until the big day and beyond," says a press release from the channel.

"Because really, when isn’t a good time to give yourself a little festive cheer?"

Well, I would say September, but who am I to rain on this parade?

The channel will launch Thursday 24 September, and will air UK premieres of A Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Marrying Father Christmas, and The Christmas Cabin. We're also hoping for classics such as Love, Actually, The Grinch and Elf, but there's no promise of that just yet.

It will run until January, so there's no rush to watch just yet if you're not in the spirit. No rush at all...

Sony Movies Christmas will be available to watch on Freeview channel 50, Sky 319, Virgin 424 or Freesat 303.
