Chanelle Hayes breaks down in tears in emotional video as she candidly discusses mental health

Chanelle Hayes broke down in tears in emotional video shared to Instagram as she candidly discussed her struggles with her mental health.

The 36 year old former Big Brother star is often open with her 127k followers on the platform about her emotions, changing body shape, and life as a mum to sons Blakely, 14, and Frankie, seven.

In the clip, Chanelle first shared two still pictures, one above the other, which saw her lying on the floor with distress clear on her face, whilst the bottom one saw her smiling alongside her partner, Ryan Oates, and their son, Frankie. Next came a video of her and Ryan giggling in bed as he plants a kiss on her head.

But following that, the star could heartbreakingly be seen breaking down in tears as she put a hand to her forehead and sobbed. The next clip showed Chanelle fully made-up and smiling as she rocked a pair of silver-rimmed glasses and sipped from a drink on a straw, before she was in tears in another.

The final snap in the video sees a smiling snap of her attached to a list of affirmations, including: 'I am doing the best I can', 'I am worthy of love and support', 'I can feel sad and that's ok' and 'I believe in me, I am capable'.

In the caption, Chanelle wrote: "Sorry I’ve not really been around lately…[crying emoji]." She continued: "April is Stress Awareness Month. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much love you’re surrounded with, stress, burnout and loneliness can find you.

Chanelle has lost over 9st in weight over recent years, after she had a gastric band procedure in 2020 - something which she has spoken a lot about. In October last year, Chanelle exclusively opened up to OK! about the operation and her recovery, but she admitted her tummy tuck 'wasn't worth it'.

“My tummy tuck really did knock me for six this year,” she told us. “I was in so much pain during the recovery. They found a hernia during surgery, so repaired that, which caused a lot of pain. So yeah, it was just… a lot.

“I am feeling better now, but the recovery was so long. I couldn’t drive, I had to sleep sitting up… I couldn’t even stand up straight. So I wouldn’t put myself through it again. It wasn’t worth it.”
