Chanel Is Officially Making Leggings a Fashion Item

Until 2020, the idea of wearing leggings to sit on the front row in Paris Fashion Week was unthinkable, however, this year, jersey leggings have become an unlikely trending item. One of the brands changing our perception of leggings is Chanel, as in the Cruise 2020 collection, a pair of leggings encrusted with sparkly double C logos and Chanel letters was a hero item in the collection.

The leggings were styled with colourful tweed jackets and Mary-Jane style shoes. The sheer number of outfits that were styled with these logo-splattered leggings proves quite how serious Chanel is about making them a fashion thing.

They might be worth £1710 (we know, we know—these are some fancy leggings), but at Paris Fashion Week this month, they got some serious airtime. The street style crowd wore them with cropped colourful cardigans and blouses with XL collars, really playing up to the retro feel of the leggings.
