Celebrity MasterChef viewers say latest challenge was unfair on the women
Celebrity MasterChef rolled on last night (18 September) with four stars battling it out to advance to the next round: Olympian Greg Rutherford, boxer Dillian Whyte, actress Elizabeth Bourgine and Motown legend Martha Reeves.
The famous faces were split into men and women, and tasked with creating identical dishes while separated from their teammate by a large shelf, which the tall lads could easily look over.
If that didn't seem one-sided enough, Greg and Dillian were asked to cook meatballs and gnocchi while Elizabeth and Martha had to make lobster and pasta. And they actually had to make the pasta, rather than just chucking in some boiling water like every other person on the planet.
Viewers were not impressed with the task, deeming it unfair on the ladies:
This challenge seems a tad harsh, who in their right mind knows how to cook lobster bolognese from scratch?! #CelebrityMasterchef #MasterChef pic.twitter.com/QXTXXhBjUU

How is meatballs and gnocchi the same as a whole lobster and making pasta?? #masterchef

As someone who loves to cook, I’m suggesting homemade pasta and lobster with a bisque is definitely harder than meatballs, tomato sauce and gnocchi ..!! #MasterChef

How ridiculous thinking they would have an iota of where to start #masterchef

How is this round fair? If I was the girls I’d punch Gregg and John in the face #CelebrityMasterchef

Who can be arsed to make their own spaghetti though? I bet even Gino D'Acampo gets his from Aldi #CelebrityMasterchef

#CelebrityMasterchef they have to make their own pasta?! And the other team only had to mould some meat!

Unsurprisingly, Martha and Elizabeth's dishes ended up looking nothing alike while Greg and Dillian's turned out very similar.
But Gregg Wallace and John Torode were actually really impressed with the ladies, and were especially pleased with Martha's effort, praising her for picking up the instructions and truly understanding flavour.
...Then, in the second task, neither of them knew the right order to layer a lasagne. Can't win them all.
The four celebs will return to fight for a semi-final place in the next episode, which airs Friday (20 September) at 9pm on BBC one.
