Celebrity MasterChef spoilers follow.

Celebrity MasterChef dialled up the heat in the kitchen tonight (August 11), as Danny Jones, Faye Winter, Paul Chuckle and Kae Kurd fought for a spot in the quarter-finals.

After presenting judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with floating island in crème anglaise (a posh term for meringue in custard, covered in caramel sauce and nuts) and a challenging dish dreamt up by chef-cum-restaurateur Chantelle Nicholson, one of the four famous faces had to be sent packing.

A self-described "novice" when it comes to cooking, it was Kae who left the competition.

"Thank you very much, thanks for the experience," said the comedian as he walked through the kitchen exit.

"Obviously [I'm] gutted, but I came in with the skills I did and I've left with more skills – I've learnt a lot and that's what it's about init? Can't win them all!"

Meanwhile, Love Island 2021 contestant Faye was feeling more than a little bit relieved after a disastrous final bake this evening – her undercooked rhubarb and custard pasties.

"Obviously my last dish was... mmm, on the cusp, like, I was stressed," she told the MasterChef cameras. "I've got a headache from making it. But it's all worth it now!"

Danny, who is lead guitarist for McFly as well as a coach on The Voice Kids, went on to reflect: "I'm buzzing! I'm worried, though, that I'm running out of dishes that I can do. Think I'm gonna go home to practice!"

Still, ChuckleVision icon Paul could be a dark horse to win the whole thing, following an impressive run in the competition so far.

Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One at 8pm.
