The 2020 US presidential election is tense. Here in the UK, we all woke up and immediately checked our breaking news alert to see if Donald Trump or Joe Biden had been announced as the next US president (it was like 2016 all over again), but quickly discovered there is no firm winner as of yet.

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, more people than ever have submitted postal votes as opposed to casting their ballot in person. With different states having different rules on when they start counting postal votes, it's taking longer than normal to confirm the the numbers in some places. It could yet take days for some states to officially announce their voting count, although Donald Trump has prematurely claimed victory (while simultaneously labelling the election fraudulent, but that's another story.)

The bottom line is, people are on edge waiting to find out the final result of the 2020 election. And nothing sums it up like these social media posts from some of our best loved celebrities, sharing the ways in which they're spending election night and passing the time:

1. Cardi B is nervous smoking

2. Chrissy Teigen is stress cooking

"Just stress cooking," Chrissy said on an Instagram Stories post mid-election coverage. "Everything's fine, everything's fine. Just cooking. Don't worry about us, we're fine," she joked.

Let's hope we get a firm decision in either way - Trump or Biden - soon. We're not sure anyone can take much more waiting...
