The day has finally come. As of today (29 March), you can officially see up to five other people outside, which after the past few months we’ve had, is an absolute joy!

And to make this even more wonderful, Costa has announced that it’s offering an amazing deal to make seeing friends and family even more special.

In celebration of Costa Coffee’s 50th birthday, the iconic coffee brand is giving away a free, handcrafted drink of your choice, available at any participating Costa Coffee store or drive-thru with your next purchase from today and lasting for the next three days.

To take advantage of the offer, or you have to do is walk into one of the many Costa Express coffee bars nationwide and you’ll receive 300 points – equalling to £3 – and treat a friend to a free coffee. Don’t fancy a drink? No problem! The 300 bonus points can be used on any food item to the value of £3.

A Costa Coffee Express spokesperson said: “It’s our birthday and we want to kick off the celebrations with our customers, so what better way than to offer a free drink on the house! As lockdown restrictions begin to lift, it’s perfect timing to catch-up with friends outside over coffee. Our Costa Express machines serve the same fresh signature Mocha Italia coffee beans and fresh semi-skimmed milk you would expect in our Costa Coffee stores, so the quality of your experience is never compromised. We have also worked hard to revolutionise the self-serve experience, not only offering great tasting coffee but offering customers the contactless option to order their favourite hot drink through the Costa app, meaning there is no need to touch any of our screens.

“We’re excited to kick off the celebrations for Costa Coffee’s 50th year and can’t wait for our customers to join us in raising a shot…of espresso to the next fifty years!”
