The first instalment of The Great Celebrity Bake Off kicked off this evening (March 6) in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, as it welcomed four decidedly brave celebrities into the hallowed GBBO tent.

Today, it was the turn of Bill Turnbull, Harry Hill, Martin Kemp and Roisin Conaty to bare their souls and baking skills to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith – with mixed results.

Although spared the usual cruelty of Prue and Paul's challenges, the four celebs were still put through their paces, as they were tasked with making 12 cupcakes, six crêpes Suzette and a 3D biscuit scene depicting the best day of their lives.

No biggie.

Things started off surprisingly well for Roisin, who was honoured with a Paul Hollywood handshake for her red velvet cupcakes – but that success was as short-lived as a tray of freshly-baked brownies in the office.

On a Monday.

After impressing with his 'lucky bald cupcakes', it was Harry who came out on top in the Technical Challenge, while Roisin suffered a fall from baking grace, coming in last.

It was all to play for as the celebrity bakers attempted to recreate the best days of their lives, with everything from a bee-keeping-themed wedding to a beach bar made out of gingerbread to the legendary Live Aid stage being commemorated in delicious biscuit.

But, unsurprisingly, it was Harry's depiction of 'his holiday with Camilla Parker Bowles' and sunbathing session with a 12-year-old turtle that won the day in the end.

After some of the 'jolliest judging' the Bake Off tent had even seen, Harry was presented with the prestigious Stand Up To Cancer apron and crowned today's Star Baker.

Congrats, Harry!

Now please do excuse us while we go and scoff a slice of cake or two.

The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off continues on Tuesday, March 13 with Stacey Solomon, Countdown's very own Nick Hewer, Perri Kiely and Ricky Wilson at 8pm on Channel 4.
