Between the shiny, millennial-centric brands delivering fresh drops through your letterbox, the more established, cult buys and the indie outfits selling a fine line in 'natural and organic' products, the beauty landscape has never felt more cluttered.

To help you to navigate this brave new world of retinol, AHAs, jade rollers and double cleansing, WH beauty editor, Perdita Nouril, is here to try and test the new drops that are making their way into her (very full) bathroom, via her new column, Beauty Dispatch.

Every month, she'll share the heroes that she loves: ready to let you know where to spend your cash. This week: the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask that's gone viral on TikTok.

'I tried the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask – here's how it went'

When it comes to TikTok beauty trends there's the good, the bad and the downright absurd. Happily, I'm here to talk about one that falls into the first category. Enter: Caudalie’s Instant Detox Mask, which has gone viral for all the right reasons.

Over the past few weeks, videos showing results from this product have garnered over 20 million views on TikTok alone, with beauty fans praising its ability to blitz pores, banish flakes and boost luminosity. It's also said to be a favourite of Kourtney Kardashian, who let's face it, has one heck of a glow.

What is the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask?

Caudalie's mask is designed to draw out impurities from the skin so it looks less congested. Pink clay and coffee help purge pores of blackhead-causing dirt and excess oil, while fruit enzymes brighten. Grape marc is another hero ingredient because of its powerful detoxifying properties, which is what makes this treatment a winning choice if you've had one of those weeks that's taken a toll on your complexion.

How do you use the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask?

According to the product's instructions, you simply apply a thin layer twice a week on a dry face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for five or 10 minutes. Rinse, then follow with serum and/or moisturiser.

My Verdict on Caudalie's Instant Detox Mask

A year in lockdown means that when it comes to my face, it's blackheads 1 and glow 0. I know that the only thing to really sort this is a decent facial that entails extractions. In the meantime, I applied this mask as per the instructions twice a week for 2 weeks.

I can promise you that doing this works wonders and quickly took my skin from zero to hero. It's also ideal if you want to dial up your glow but don't want to use acids that can irritate sensitive skin types. Ultimately, this crowd-pleaser is totally worth the hype – and a solid sub while we wait to be let loose on the salons.
