Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia dress among iconic movie costumes in Propstore auction

Carrie Fisher's ceremonial dress from the original Star Wars movie is expected to sell at auction for as much as $2 million (£1.6 million).

Film and TV memorabilia worth over $12 million, including iconic outfits from Star Wars, Batman, Gladiator, and Harry Potter, will be auctioned by Propstore from 28 to 30 June 2023.

The dress, which was once thought lost, is expected to sell for between $1 million (£800,000) - $2 million.

Expected to sell for a similar sum is Batman's Batpod from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

Meanwhile, Chris Pratt's Light-Up "Star-Lord" Helmet from Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to sell for between $100,000 - $200,000 (£80,000-£160,000). Also setting you back a similar sum will be the coat Kate Winslett wore as the Titanic sunk in James Cameron's historical epic. A Spider Head from The Thing also has the same estimate.

Russell Crowe's armour from Gladiator's estimate is $80,000 - $160,000 (£64,600 - £129,200), the same as an outfit Harrison Ford wore while playing Rick Deckard in 1982's Blade Runner.

Brandon Alinger, Propstore COO says: "This year, Propstore's Los Angeles Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction contains many never seen before treasures from film and television content including Princess Leia's Ceremonial Dress from the end of Star Wars which was once thought to be lost."

Bids can be placed online, over the phone, or via absentee bidding. In addition, in-room bidding will be open to the public at The Petersen Automotive Museum on the first day of the event on June 28th.
