Carrie-Anne Moss proudly represented her latest silver screen endeavour this weekend in a custom Matrix inspired gown.

The American actor, 54, joined her fellow co-stars Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith and Priyanka Chopra for the premiere of The Matrix Resurrections on Saturday evening at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco in a floor-skimming, bespoke dress.

The brainchild of Oscar de la Renta, the garment's skirt was covered in lines of green and silver sequins and beads, echoing the series' digital rain.

The brand's name was also stitched into the design - a small detail that the fashion house shared in the second photo they posted on Instagram.

A silk chiffon cape completed the look.

Fans were impressed with the label's attention to detail, littering the Instagram post's comments section with appreciation for the actor's incredible outfit.

"The thought and the execution was amazing in this gown," one fan wrote.

"The prettiest of the night!!!! The dress is gorgeous!!!" another agreed.

Another added: "This is beyond epic!!!! The detail and craftsmanship is perfection."

A further post by the designer revealed a behind the scenes glimpse at some of the precise work that was involved in creating the bespoke gown.

"The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us," the accompanying caption said.

Moss wasn't the only star to reference the movie in their premiere outfit. Priyanka Chopra revealed in an Instagram post that her outfit was an "ode" to her character in the film.

The Indian actor, 39, wore a glittering, silver body-skimming dress, with oversized orange fan-style detailing, which she says was a nod to her character.

"What a night! The Matrix premiere! Also @luxurylaw brought it! The colours of my dress are an ode to my character in the film, Sati. I can’t wait for all of you to meet her!!" she wrote.

"So proud of this cast and crew. What an honour."

The US actor wore her hair shaved almost down to the scalp, and donned an oversized silver earring in her right ear.

Pinkett Smith made it something of a family affair after being joined by son Jaden Smith, 18, on the specially made green carpet.

The glamorous premiere appearance as comes as earlier this month Moss opened up about how motherhood has changed her.

Speaking with co-star Pinkettt Smith for an episode of Red Table Talk the actor responded to a fan question about how motherhood had changed her since she did not have kids when the 1999 Matrix came out.

"I feel like being a mother has given me everything," Moss, who shares three kids with husband Steven Roy, explained. "I love growing, and raising human beings is challenging. And I have loved mothering because I’ve chosen grow. I think about the places in myself that I think I would have just said, 'That’s just how I am.' That, my kids, because I love them so much, I’ve had to expand through that."

Moss added: "I think I’m a completely different person than I was before I had kids."

Pinkett Smith agreed, saying,"My kids have stretched me in ways that I never imagined."

Moss went on to explain that she was able to bring her children on set for the first time during the filming the movie.

While her daughter has not seen her mum in the original movies, her sons have, noting that they "really respect me as a human being and they love me a lot. And I think they think it’s very cool."
