The cold weather has us thinking about magical getaways in icy destinations - and this year we're dreaming of a magical trip to see the Northern Lights.

This awe-inspiring ‘weather from outer space’ is one of the most memorable sights you can see and this December, Prima is offering you the chance to experience it in Norway with Carol Kirkwood, TV weather presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant.

After joining an incredible sell-out holiday in March 2020, Carol will be back for another cruise this year, and we're inviting you to be part of the epic journey to Norway's most beautiful places.

Carol, who starred in the 2015 series of Strictly and was partnered with Pasha Kovalev, will join you on the cruise through the Norwegian fjords, stopping at port towns such as picturesque Alesund, historic Bergen and the Viking town of Trondheim.

Your home for 12 nights will be a comfortable cruise ship that will cross the Arctic Circle into the wondrous Lofoten Islands, and drop you off for a visit to the breathtaking North Cape, mainland Europe’s most northerly point.

During this unique Northern Lights tour, Carol will discuss her career as a broadcaster and weather presenter with you during a talk and Q&A session on the ship. She’ll answer all your questions about Strictly and the Northern Lights, as well as join you in search of the magical Aurora Borealis.

"I'd done TV shows on the Aurora before and not once had I been lucky enough to see the natural phenomenon - but that night I was," Carol said about her last Northern Lights trip with Good Housekeeping. "They looked amazing and it wasn't a one-off. We saw the lights on the next two days as well. Talk about spoilt!"

Norway's Arctic waters are well-known for Aurora sightings and destinations such as Tromso and Lofoten are famed for their views of the lights. Hurtigruten, with whom we've partnered for this exclusive trip and is one of the most trusted specialists for Northern Lights holidays, is so confident that you'll witness the dancing lights in the sky that the trip comes with a guarantee.

This means that if you don't see the Northern Lights during this cruise, you'll get to go on another six- or seven-day trip for free!

While you'll want to spend every evening out on the deck looking out for the displays, there'll be plenty of time to soak up the culture with Viking feasts and put your feet up, too.
