Cardi B is planning to release a haircare range after working on ideas at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The music star wants to "educate" people on how to look after Afro-Latina hair after receiving offensive comments on a video she posted about her long natural locks.

"This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughters," Cardi wrote on Instagram on Monday. "However, I think is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race and ethnicity. Being Hispanic/Latina don't make your hair long, don't make your skin light or don't make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands (sic)."

The WAP singer, who has a Dominican father and Trinidadian mother, went on to highlight many misconceptions around hair type and nationality.

"Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair (sic)," she wrote. "And one more thing, not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican."

It is not yet known what the name of the line will be or when it will be released.

Last year, Cardi revealed she uses a DIY hair mask once a month to keep her hair in good condition. The star mixes one avocado, one egg, coconut oil, castor oil and a drizzle of honey together then adds it to her hair so it stays shiny and hydrated.
