After surprising all those who tuned into the BET Awards last night, by sharing her pregnancy news while performing, rapper Cardi B has followed up her on-stage reveal with a powerful, naked bump photo on Instagram. She and husband Offset, part of the Migos trio, already share a daughter named Kulture together, and Offset has three other children from previous relationships.
Keeping things simple, Cardi (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) captioned the picture of her holding her bare bump with "#2! ♥️ @offsetyrn" and tagged Offset, too. In the image, she appears to have a cast over her stomach and is standing to the side, showing the extent of her growing stomach - and she looks a fair few months into her pregnancy already. She also has the most ridiculously gorge mermaid waves on the go too, just FYI.
Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) later shared the powerful photo of his wife on his Instagram Stories too, along with the words 'Another blessing'.
Keen to share their well wishes and messages of congratulations, plenty of recognisable names were also quick to hop into the comments underneath Cardi's latest post, with Selena Gomez writing, "Another angel 👼🏼 LOVE YOU MOMMA!"
Cardi's sister, Hennessey, wrote, "IMA BE AN AUNTIEEEE AGAINNNNN 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️" and Khloe Kardashian, who is currently on her own journey to have another child via surrogacy, said, "Congratulations!!!!! ❤️❤️"
During her pregnancy with Kulture, Cardi continued to keep it candid with her 97 million followers on Instagram and 18 million on Twitter, sharing regular updates on her mood and any food cravings that she had along the way.
In one such tweet, the musician revealed that her tastebuds had changed in pregnancy and that she suddenly wanted to eat crisps that usually she'd be far from interested in: "I hate red Doritos but for some reason i want red Doritos with sour cream and cheese and guacamole," she said. "OMG i want it Soo bad but i already ate my limit of junk food today."
After giving birth, Cardi also spoke out about how she'd been surprised by many aspects of post partum life, and bravely cancelled a tour she had planned with Bruno Mars, saying she simply wasn't ready to get back out on the road again – which is beyond fair.
In a W interview shortly afterwards, she said, "People don’t really talk about what you go through after pregnancy... Like, they don’t tell you that you get stitches down there or that your first two weeks you’re constipated. Or that you get contractions because of breastfeeding. I wasn’t expecting that."
Continuing on, Cardi added, "When Kulture was born, I felt like I was a kid again; everything was making me cry, and I needed a lot of love. I be feeling like, 'Do babies know who’s they mom?' I feel like babies love whoever is giving them the milk, and I want to give the milk the whole time. I want her to know me. I feel better now, but sometimes I just feel so vulnerable, like I’m not ready for the world yet. It’s weird."
As always, we love your honesty, Cardi, and are sending huge congratulations your way for bébé numéro deux!
