When Genie Bouchard took to the beaches in Aruba for her SI Swimsuit photoshoot in 2018, she wasn’t new to the scene. She made her debut only the year prior in Turks and Caicos, returning for a series of moodier photos (she wore chic all-black swimsuits for her second feature, a very different vibe from the neon looks of her first).

Her sophomore photoshoot definitely brought a slightly different experience for the athlete, who felt "much more comfortable this time around” and “like [she] could just be [her]self,” she said of the experience. From the look of the fabulous photos taken by James Macari, we could definitely tell that the 29-year-old was being her playful and fun self in her second brand feature.

While she proved herself talented in front of the camera both times, she also has proven herself talented on the tennis court, her chosen profession. In fact, the star athlete just recently joined the Canadian national team in Seville, Spain, for the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup.

Alongside her teammates, the player helped bring the Canadian team to their first victory in the tournament—an impressive, history-making feat.

Her incredible tennis victory has us reminiscing on the wonderful moments she shared with the SI Swimsuit team just about five years ago now. In honor of the win, we’re throwing it back to her stunning photoshoot in Aruba and some of our favorite snapshots of the tennis star.
