Camilla, Queen Consort wears The Queen's sapphire brooch in subtle tribute
The Queen Consort paid subtle tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing a poignant brooch to a special service in honour of Commonwealth Day (13 March).
Camilla, Queen Consort chose to wear The Queen's sapphire brooch for this year's annual Commonwealth Day service, which was the first to take place since Her Majesty's passing last September.
Camilla pinned the sentimental piece to her navy coat dress, which she paired with an asymmetric, feather-detailed hat in the same shade of royal blue.
The sapphire brooch is trimmed with diamonds and was a favourite of The Queen's, who wore it on a number of occasions over the years.
The King, Prince and Princess of Wales and other members of the Royal Family gathered together at Westminster Abbey for the service on Monday.
The Princess of Wales also opted for a poignant brooch for the special occasion, wearing a diamond pin featuring the emblem for the Prince of Wales. She attached it to her navy peplum skirt suit, which featured a smattering of white embroidered flowers.
Among those in attendance at the Abbey were the newly titled Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh (formerly Earl and Countess of Wessex.
Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh looked elegant with a coordinating cream coat dress, hat and bag for the event, which featured chic black details in the coat button and bow on her hat.
Her husband, Prince Edward (Duke of Edinburgh), wore a pinstriped suit, as did his oldest brother, King Charles.
