A Call Me By Your Name themed tour visiting the iconic locations in the Oscar nominated film released last year is being offered by the first LGBT tour operator in Italy, QUIIKY.

The film follows the burgeoning romance between Oliver and Elio over a summer in a sleepy Italian backwater. Wild swimming, romantic bike rides and perpetual sunshine characterise this beautiful film which was primarily filmed throughout northern Italy.

The nine-day tour includes eight nights’ accommodation, B&B, the services of a tour guide and car rental and takes in the cities and towns of Milan, Crema, Lake Garda, Verona, Venice and Bergamo.

Those looking to recreate the ultimate holiday romance begin their tour in Milan, the city of fashion and home of Leonardo da Vinci. The first day ends with an aperitif in Porta Venezia, the city’s LGBT district.

Guests then travel to Crema, where they will see many of the film’s memorable locations, including Duomo Square.

The itinerary includes a bicycle tour throughout Crema and Lodi, a cooking course, wine tasting and two nights at the Aqualux Hotel and spa.

Dreamers, LGBT folks and film buffs alike can book a tour package from €2,000.

Fans of the big screen can also explore other film-inspired tours.

Roman Holiday Tours claims to take visitors around movie locations in Italy featured in the films Roman Holiday, Angels and Demons and La Grande Bellezza.

And, in the year the controversial show celebrates its 20th birthday, Sex and the City fans can visit over 40 locations featured in the ground-breaking show by joining one of the many tours available throughout New York City.

Those seeking something closer to home can check out the Harry Potter Studio Tour based in Watford, which was recently ranked number one in a survey of the best things to do in the UK.
