Call the Midwife star Helen George has reportedly joined the exclusive dating app Raya. The 40 year old actress, who recently shocked fans with her incredible transformation, has allegedly signed up for the dating app after it was reported that she and co-star Olly Rix had grown apart after they were rumoured to be sparking up a close bond earlier this year.

Helen, who announced her split from Jack Ashton last summer, is now reportedly looking for love on the members-only app. It is reported her profile, linked to her Instagram and created last month, allegedly describes her as an actor with interests in hotels, restaurants and bars, meditation, theatre, travel, dogs and antiques. She has also chosen Leon Bridges' Smooth Sailin' as her profile song, according to the Mirror.

“Helen and Olly were very close, and they supported each other through their respective break-ups. But since then, their lives have moved in different directions. Helen joined Raya with the encouragement of her friends, and is hoping to meet someone she really clicks with,” a source told the Mirror.

“But she is incredibly happy at the moment, so she is not putting any pressure on it at all. As far as she's concerned, a relationship would be a bonus if the right person came along.”

It comes as the actress has been sharing snaps from her recent holiday to Puglia, Italy, online, showing her posing in an Italian street, by a picturesque lake and hugging a friend. Her Italian escape comes after she was seen filming scenes for the 14th series of Call the Midwife - the first since her on-screen husband Matthew Aylward, portrayed by Olly, left the show.

The previous series concluded with Helen's character Trixie Franklin deciding to join Matthew in New York. However, her presence on set appears to confirm that she will be returning to Poplar.

The Call The Midwife team has also given viewers a peek inside the upcoming series and they gave a glimpse behind the scenes of filming for its upcoming Christmas special. In a post shared to its Instagram page, Call The Midwife shared a snap of Georgie Glen, who plays Miss Higgins, peeling sprouts.

“But we couldn’t help noticing a great profusion of that most Christmas of British vegetables… SPROUTS! Lots and lots of them!”
