To celebrate 30 years since the release of the iconic Christmas movie, a cake designer was asked to recreate the Home Alone house out of gingerbread and the end result is incredible. Have you ever heard of anything more festive?

Disney+ shared the video of the remarkable creation to its Instagram page and we can't stop watching it.

Complete with tiny burglars Harry and Marv, Kevin's treehouse and even 14 teeny pizza boxes; the McAllister house is so distinctly recognisable.

It was made by award winning cake designer Michelle Wibowo, it took 300 hours of hard work and measures 1.25m by 1.7m.

Michelle talks us through the creation of the cake in the video and the attention to detail is remarkable. The scene includes countless lights, 63 trees and 33 windows, a gorgeous wreath, street lamps, even tiny dustbins; all hand created out of gingerbread and icing.

The older we've got the more we wonder what Kevin's parents did for a living to own such a gigantic house. It's so grand... even when made out of gingerbread.

30 years on the movie is still a total Christmas much-watch every year. If this has got you in the mood to watch, it's streaming now on Disney+.
